Dead Island Mindblowingly Awesome Trailer

I have never heard of this game before - which seems nigh impossible - especially since it was announced in 2007. Dead Island just released this amazing trailer to their zombie-survival-action-RPG and I couldn't be more pumped. I love when video game developers get it right. Dead Rising is good, but slightly unrealistic. Left 4 Dead is awesome but not deep enough. In the rush of zombies attacking all mediums at the present, its about time a zombie video game comes along and just gets it right. Watch this video now. And then comment. Its fucking good.

  1. I was blown away by this trailer. It's one the first times I've been shocked by the quality of something in a while. I too have heard nothing about this game until the trailer appeared, but if this trailer is an indication into the level of depth and emotional intensity and gore/combat we'll see in the actual game then I'll be so happy.

Based on what I read, it sounds kind of like Condemned (at least in the way that it's a first person melee brawler) only on an island with zombies. Your weapons depreciate over time and you have to keep picking up new ones and the graphics of the zombies are apparently spectacular and disgusting.

There are a ton of awesome games coming out!

    Batman: Arkham City
    L.A. Noir
    Mass Effect 3
    Deus Ex etc

Are you an Elder Scrolls fan? Definitely check out the latest Skyrim trailer, it's spectacular and makes you want to fight dragons.

  2. Am I an Elder Scrolls fan. Of course! I just beat Morrowind and now I'm making my way through Oblivion for the fifth time. The new trailer is insanely good. I can't wait. There is a ton of games coming out that I am pumped about. One of them being Deus Ex. I think I've played the first game more times over than I've ever played any other game. Its incredible and I can't wait for the new one.

  3. Deus Ex is an excellent series. People really didn't seem to like Invisible War but I enjoyed it. I like the fact that the next one is a prequel and the lead character seems like he'll be really fleshed out. I love how the Deus Ex tone doesn't really mess around. There's no attempts at lame humor or winks to the audience just cuz it's a video game, there's just an intense seriousness and intelligence and quality to the story and gameplay and the new game seems to be staying true to that.

Glad you like Elder Scrolls. Morrowind is on my top ten favorite games. I've played Oblivion for about 70 hours or so and am not even close to beating the main story, I'm gonna get back into it in the coming weeks.

Have you played Ico and/or Shadow of the Collossus?
